The Study

Delivering clean, consistent, and safe water to all residents is the goal of the respective water authority. As clean water is essential to life. They understood that the growth of the city depends on offering these essential needs to the residents. After protecting public health and the environment, priorities turn to deliver quality & value water through outstanding service with cost-effective operations. The WTP located in Hulu Langat, costing RM177.7 million to build, was commissioned in early 2018 with a production capacity of 100 MLD. The water supply areas comprise Petaling, Hulu Langat, Sepang, and Kuala Langat.

CUSTOMER CHALLENGE

Experience Operators with Unforeseen Events 

One of the biggest local water authorities in the central region, their daily operation of a water supply system is managed by internal staff with their experiences and expert judgment to adjust control elements such as pumps and valves to ensure water treatment plants are on the planned systems and to minimize energy costs.  

However, our customer is facing difficulties, especially with their system:  

  • Without information on how the parameter in the Water Treatment Plant behave, as only value available. 
  • Unable to predict raw water availability, suitability and quality. 
  • Unable to determine filter performance and water loss. 
  • Unable to predict and forecast the chemical usage and availability. 
  • Unable to determine energy utilization and energy usage vs production output analyze. 
  • Unable to determine pump efficiency utilization monitoring. 
  • No operating condition monitoring for the pump. 
  • All Maintenace work and record are still on paper. 
  • Without overview & high level of visualization in Water Treatment Plant

Trusting YNY Technology’s expertise in the water industry, our consultation is tasked to provide a proactive and situation awareness system to monitor, control and analyze critical issues and concerns arising from the Water Treatment Plant.

The treatment plant is set up and equipped with intelligent communication that heightens situation awareness of the water department network. Throughout the whole discussion of improvements, YNY Technology takes into consideration to ensure the new system shall have the capability to effectively control and monitor the Water Treatment Plant process and production.  This was done by implementing a digital dashboard for energy consumption, raw water sustainability, clear water sustainability, chemical stock management, and asset management.
